RoadHand combines public government data with user-submitted content. This page explains how both are sourced, what we guarantee, and what we don't.
01Government Data Sources
- BLS OEWS — U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, May release (annual). Median, mean, and percentile hourly wages by state and metro area. Source: bls.gov/oes
- Davis-Bacon — U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determinations. Source: sam.gov/content/wage-determinations
- GSA Per Diem — U.S. General Services Administration federal per-diem rates (lodging + M&IE). Source: api.gsa.gov
- OSHA Enforcement — U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspection and violation records. Source: osha.gov/foia
- SAM.gov Entities — federal contractor registry. Source: sam.gov
02What We Don't Guarantee
Government data is displayed as-is from public sources. It may be:
- Outdated — BLS releases annually, wage determinations quarterly
- Incomplete — small states or niche trades may have suppressed records
- Contain errors from the original source
- Superseded by more recent data we haven't imported yet
For authoritative wage or safety data, consult the official government source directly.
03OSHA Safety Scores
Safety scores displayed next to contractor profiles are computed by RoadHand from OSHA public enforcement records. The algorithm deducts points from 100 for serious, willful, and repeat violations within a 24-month lookback window.
These are not official OSHA ratings. OSHA does not endorse, review, or rank contractors. A “clear” score on RoadHand reflects the absence of recent serious violations in the federal record — it does not guarantee present-day site safety or future performance.
04User-Submitted Content
Contractor reviews, pay reports, and housing recommendations are opinions of the user who submitted them. We do not independently verify accuracy. Users may be mistaken, may have incomplete information, or may have had an unusual experience.
We remove content that appears fraudulent, defamatory, or in violation of our Terms of Service.
05Use At Your Own Risk
You are solely responsible for your employment, housing, and safety decisions. RoadHand content is a reference — not a substitute for:
- Consulting official government sources
- Independent due diligence on contractors and properties
- Professional legal, tax, or safety advice
